Terms & Conditions/Matting Approach
I do everything I possibly can to make sure your pets time in the salon is as pleasant as possible. Unfortunately, occasionally grooming can expose a previously hidden medical issue, or aggravate a current one. This can happen during or after grooming.
It is possible that an accident could occur during grooming. Upmost care and caution will always be taken, but cuts, scratches, nicks and quicking of nails could occur. Bella's groom room will not be responsible for any conditions or problems discovered during grooming.
Bella's groom room will not be responsible for the accidental death of the pet, as a result of any pre-existing health condition.
Should Bella's Groom Room determine, at its sole discretion, that urgent veterinary care is required, I agree to pay all associated fees and costs. If my pet’s vet is not available, You authorise Bella's Groom Room to use its chosen vet. Bella's Groom Room will not be liable for any after grooming effects of de-matting, clipping, or brushing procedures, or problems uncovered on a badly matted or otherwise neglected coat including, but not limited to, skin redness, itchiness, or self-inflicted irritations from excessive external scratching or rubbing. Time and costs associated with de-matting are unpredictable, I agreed to pay whatever fees are incurred because of de-matting, whether a dog is matted is at the sole discretion of Bella's Groom Room.
I agree that I have truthfully informed Bella’s Groom Room if my pet has ever bitten another animal or human, or if it has any other aggressive tendencies. I agree and understand that I will be held solely responsible for any injury, harm or damage to property caused by my pet.
Bella's Groom Room reserves the right to refuse to groom a pet in an unsatisfactory state, including, but not limited to, behavioural issues, fleas, ticks, other parasites, or kennel cough.
Bella's Groom Room operates a strict policy on missed appointment’s, and I agree that if I need to change an appointment, I will notify Bella's Groom Room no less than 48 hours before the booked appointment. If insufficient notice is given, I agree to pay 50% of the estimated grooming charges. If appointments are missed on a regular basis, pre-payment will be required.
By completing our electronic release form I understand and agreed to all points stated above and understand that these will apply for todays booking and any future bookings with Bella’s Groom Room.
Matted approach
Matted coats can cause a variety of skin and health problems. Matted fur does not allow for air circulation to the skin, causing hotspots, bacterial and fungal infections.
Fleas, ticks, maggot’s, and other parasites may be lurking in the coats causing further skin irritations. Matted fur also pulls and binds, causing pain to your pets when they move or lay on the matts. The skin underneath can be raw and inflamed. Matted coats will not dry properly and can lead to rotting fur and skin.
Due to matting, your dog’s hair might need to be shaved extremely short to the skin and may show signs of skin irritations and sores which have been caused by the matting and continually wet undercoat and dirty coat. The grooming required will be to ensure your pet is as comfortable as possible and ensure that your pet's grooming experience is a stress free as possible.
Due to the condition of your dog's coat, it may be determined that the kindest and most Humane option is to remove the dogs coat completely. This will be a short clip, removing all the matting. Where feasible, we will work to de-mat/ brush out the dog’s coat, but only when it would not cause excessive pain and suffering to attempt to do so.
There is a strong chance that your pets skin will become irritated during the clipping process. We will use a medicated shampoo to help soothe any irritation that may occur. The matted hair rest tightly against the skin- the only way of removing mats is to use a short blade to clip between the skin and the mats. Your dog might be nicked and cut due to having to work so closely to the skin to remove the matted coat. We will be incredibly careful, but the possibility of injury does exist.
Understanding these risks and by signing our release form Bella’s Groom Room is authorised to proceed with the de-matting process.
Bella's Groom Room will be happy to show you how to care for your pet’s coat so that matting does not re-occur. We will also be happy to recommend the best equipment for you to use. By completing our release from you hereby release Bella’s Groom Room from any liability associated with the above-mentioned process and any/all medical problems that may be uncovered and/or occur during the stripping and de-matting process. Should your pet need veterinary care after or during the process, you agree to pay any/all associated veterinary fees.
